Help support our vital work this year and beyond

We need to raise over £70,000 a year to support our vital work, so any amount you can give –  large or small –  is hugely valued. Your gift will go directly towards our core services, including emergency funding for destitute asylum seekers and access to legal advice. SWVG is a highly effective registered charity operating in the Southampton and Winchester area. You can learn more about our work and find our how you could get involved here.

To make a donation

Download the Standing Order / Gift Aid form here. This form can be used by all donors. Fill it in, and send it by email to Treasurer@swvg-refugees.org.uk or by post to the Treasurer, SWVG, PO Box 1615, Southampton, SO17 3WF. The Treasurer then makes a record, and forwards the form to your bank for processing.

If you do not pay income tax in the UK, just leave the Gift Aid section blank.

If you have set up the Standing Order with your bank using internet banking, please note that on the form or in the email.

If you are making a single donation, it’s easier to make a bank transfer using the SWVG account details given on the form.

You can also donate via Just Giving.

Your donations keep SWVG doing life changing work in the community. Most of this is done by volunteers, giving their time and talents to keep our costs as low as possible. We:

  • enrich the lives of asylum seekers during the difficult period of waiting to hear if they will be allowed to stay in the UK, adjusting to life here with little money and no right to work
  • campaign and raise awareness of the issues affecting people seeking sanctuary ion the UK
  • provide practical support, financial assistance and accommodation for those on the brink of crisis; teach English; and befriend.

Read the stories of some of those we’ve  helped.

SWVG works directly with those who need help, with over 50 trained volunteers offering one-to-one befriending and support to local asylum seekers and refugees, or helping them learn English.

Please take a moment to donate to us today and help change a life.
